CHRISTIANS: Are we meant to identify the last days?
by Zoos ini've been reading articles from ronald e. frye's, the christian respondent.
he puts forward this understanding of mark 13, mathew 24 and luke 21:.
(1) the destruction of jerusalem is set forth in graphic detail.

Sometimes the reason it is difficult to make sense of something is simply because it doesn't make sense. Ask yourself, if your mum wore a burka would you be asking this question, or is it only important to you because of an accident of birth?
The questions that my parents insisted needed answering needed to be analysed before attempting any answers. They never did that. They wasted decades of their lives chasing ever changing answers to questions that never needed to be asked, and provided no benefits to themselves, their family, and their converts, other than providing them with a dysfunctional social club of misfits.

A Lutheran sat my father down and trashed him on the immortal soul. My father couldn't care less, but I got the message.

This website finally helped me understand the claim of 100% failure rate
by ILoveTTATT inup to about 5 minutes ago... i still had the notion that maybe jw's predicted something and got it right... that the league of nations was going to rise and become the united nations.
i think that jw prophecies/predictions are like a shotgun: shoots many projectiles, one of them has got to hit.
you cannot predict 5 different things and then, when one of them gets partly fulfilled, drop the other 4.5 things, change the 1/2 thing you predicted that was right and make it seem like that was the only thing you predicted, and make the entire one point fit after the fact.. reading watchtower literature throughout the years (1879 till now), and then coming here and getting awesome explanations from people like leolaia and other researchers, i finally understand the claim that most apostate websites make: the wt has a 100% prediction failure rate.. they were lucky that something big happened in 1914... but now i am much wiser and i know that everything they predicted for 1914 did not turn out as they predicted... 1914 has been a date with many different hats... from the start of armageddon, to the beginning of the last days... etc.... thank you very much jwn for completely opening my mind.

"New Light" Annual Meeting Oct 2013" Olive Branch Extended To Apostates and Unfaithful JWs.
by AuntConnie init's absurd to think jehovah's slave should take heed or listen to advice from the ever growing mob leaving the organization.
still, it's your problem you can't keep pace with our present truth as we continue to evolve.
why should we listen to the the vast army of apostates and evil slaves, they don't want a gente, more humble org, they need to fight fire with fire!

I'm really looking forward to watching Jesus killing my neighbor's babies from the safety of Jehovah's chariot. I'll repent my evil ways tomorrow, or maybe the next day... or maybe after the party on the weekend... or after the fishing trip with the local heathens...

Does it show a deplorable lack of faith to have a bucket list?
by compound complex inas a baby boomer making the best of every day, i have a casual list of things i want to do before i, well .
we all know about the promises made, and, gee whiz, i want to be a good and faithful boy.
but i'm beginning to wonder if i should buy a few more baskets to put my eggs in.

I'm running out of things on my bucket list and have to keep inventing new ones.
Jumping off a bridge tied to a rubber band will never make my list

Similar Religions to Jehovah's Witnesses
by God_Delusion inhi guys,.
i am sort of having a breakthrough with my mother-in-law.
she's not really going to the meetings any longer but still believes the jehovah's witnesses are the "true religion".. in our last conversation, she said the following:.

Instead of trying to prove to her that JW isn't the one true religion, she should be trying to prove to you that it is by answering the questions that she currently uses trickery to avoid.
Every time she uses a diversion, let her know that you know she tried to fool you and, if possible, use a question to get her to compare her tactic to something you have heard her trash 'false relgion' for.

WHy Have You Turned YOur Back On The Messiah
by cassuk11 inok so you got out of the watchtower society after discerning it was false.
what is amazing is how many have turned their back on the king or was it they had no faith in the first place and the spiritual food they received did not help them stand upon a rock.
jesus the christ your saviour is a living breathing being with emotions.

When I was a kid I believed a lot of things that turned out not to be true. I couldn't 'turn my back' on those beliefs. They were simply wrong and I needed to grow a pair and admit it. I would be a fool to carry on believing them, and dishonest if I gave lip service to believing them.
Do you know what book I was reading when I finally realised that the Bible was only men's thoughts about God, not God's thoughts about man?? It was the Bible, not any other book written by some dissafected Christian, JW, athiest, whatever ....... just the Bible.
If you want to try and cherry pick some stuff you liked from your time in a high control cult, go ahead, but your past membership in one doesn't leave you with an enviable track record to use if you want to sell yourself as our spiritual advisor.
BTW, I was born in, never joined.

They need to know that good people find their behaviour offensive and unchristian, so you did a good job.
If you are telling them what is wrong with their church, they are trained to not listen, so don't waste your time trying.
If you want to get somewhere with them, you need them to think that you are a potential convert and get them wanting to save you. Make them want to answer your questions, questions that you chose because you already know that they don't have sensible answers.
Never answer their questions because they are just trying to change the subject. When they do answer you .... pause ..... ask yourself ..... "Did they really answer the question that I asked?" They seldom do. If they tried that trick, use questions to give them a guilt trip for trying to trick you.
Remember at all times, that they are taught that they are the only ones that have 'The Truth' that will save your arse from the wrath of their killer god and that if they don't do their god given mission of getting the Watchtower's message through to you, you will be killed in the near future.
Stay calm
Ask questions
Keep them honest
Good luck
